Classic streamer invented by Carrie G. Stevens. Carrie had a preferred color for her Gray Ghost wing, but liek all commercial tiers, she was limited by the availability by materials. A study of forty-five gray ghosts reveals varrying colors in the wing, ranging from light to dark gray, a greenish gray, and even ginger darkening to a reddish brown. Even if the supply of properly colored hackle could be maintained, there was still the problem of matching the orange floss as dyed lots can varry from batch to batch.
