Tail: Brown cock hackle fibers.

Body: Peacock herl divided by a band of red floss.

Hackle: Dark brown cock hackle.

 
This is the hair-wing version of the Royal Coachman, which the Dette's originally tied for John Taintor Foote and is still one of their most popular flies. It was originally tied by Rube Cross for Leonard C. Quackenbush of the Beaverkill Trout Club.
