In Eric Leiser's book "The Dettes" Eric states that this pattern was designed by Walt Dette for Art Lee. However according to the great-grandson of Walt Dette, this is in error, Walt tied this fly to be a cross between the Henryville Special and the Adams. The pattern that Walt tied for Art Lee was known as the Delaware Special. Also the wing position shown in the book is too far back, this was due to Walt's aging eyesight at the time. The wings should be placed in typical Catskill style. This has been confirmed with Mary Dette, Walt's daughter.
