Dry fly number five from John Atherton as found in the classic book entitled, "The Fly and the Fish" pub. 1951. Atherton did extensive research on "light patterns" of dry flies. This can be seen in his dry fly dressings, which call for many combinations of materials and favor the use of Cree Hackle.

*Note: This fly is the most generally useful of the group.
