Dr. George Parker Holden
Like so many other famous anglers of the day Dr.
George Parker Holden, felt it important to share
his love of the art of fly fishing with others. Following
in the footsteps of men like Thaddeus Norris, Dr.
Holden authored the book "Streamcraft" (An
Angling Manual) a "How To" book on fishing,
pub. in 1919. Holden was a mentor and friend to the
master split bamboo rod maker Everett Garrison and
penned one of the grateset books on bamboo rod building
entitled "The Idyl of the Split-Bamboo, (A detailed
description of how to build a bamboo fly-fishing
rod)" in 1920. He also authored the book "Angling:
Recollection and Practice.
