In the year of 1869, Thomas H. Chubb began his vision of building the first rod making factory. His Vermont factory began turning out lancewood rod sections and bamboo strips, from his water-wheel powered factory. This production rod manufacturing enabled the average man to own a good quality rod at a low price. Thomas H. Chubb also supplied many of the parts to his contemporary rodmakers.
